Ear Infections – Get Relief Fast
Ear infections are a common and uncomfortable condition — affecting 1 in 10 adults at some point in their life.
We offer fast, effective treatment for outer ear infections (otitis externa) with no need to see a GP first.
What Is an Ear Infection?
An ear infection occurs when bacteria, fungi, or viruses cause inflammation in one of the three parts of the ear:
| Type | Location | Also Known As |
|---|---|---|
| Otitis externa | Outer ear canal | “Swimmer’s ear” |
| Otitis media | Middle ear | Common in children |
| Otitis interna | Inner ear | May lead to labyrinthitis |
We treat otitis externa, the most common type in adults.
How Do I Know If I Have Otitis Externa?
Common symptoms include:
- Pain when touching or pulling the outer ear
- Itching or redness in the ear canal
- Swelling or discharge from the ear
- Mild hearing loss or "blocked" sensation
If touching your ear causes pain, it may be otitis externa.
What Causes Outer Ear Infections?
Otitis externa is often triggered by:
- Water trapped in the ear (swimming/showering)
- Using cotton buds or inserting earplugs
- Eczema or skin irritation
- Hearing aids or earphones
- Hot or humid environments
- Allergies or existing skin conditions
- Diabetes or lowered immunity
